Week 6 of SEC action is now officially in the books, and there were a few very interesting outcomes and developments over the weekend that are sure to have massive implications on the conference standings moving forward.

SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic took in all the action between the teams that duked it out over the weekend, and posted his Week 6 takeaways for each program on Monday morning via X.

The 2 big winners from Saturday were the Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide, who both knocked off ranked opponents on their home fields, and that’s who Cubelic starts out with.

He says that the Tide had a “strong showing” and had high praise for both the offense and defense, noting that offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was “masterful” with his use of different formations.

For the Gators, Cubelic praised the offense’s ability to stretch out the Longhorns’ defense, as well as the UF defense’s ability to get after the quarterback and force him into making poor decisions with the ball.

When it came to the teams on the losing end of both of these matchups, Cubelic said that while Vanderbilt had chances to win, but the turnovers on offense were a killer. For Texas, it all came down to their inept offense and inability to protect Arch Manning.

Cubelic also noted that Georgia, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma all recorded impressive wins in their respective matchups, while Kentucky and Mississippi State were disappointing in their losses.
