There were 14 SEC teams in action last weekend. A handful of them hosted FCS or lower-level FBS foes in preparation for their rivalry week matchups, but we had 4 conference battles, too. And, as always, Cole Cubelic was there to break down all the tape afterward.

Cubelic released his weekly takeaways early Monday morning. With so many mismatches, 5 schools — Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas A&M — simply “handled their business.” However, that doesn’t mean they each played spectacularly. Cubelic noted the Crimson Tide lacked “push in the run game” and had “too many missed assignments” along the offensive line.

Once he got into the SEC-on-SEC matchups, Cubelic’s analysis became more pointed. He applauded Missouri’s defense for “getting after it” against Oklahoma, but bashed the offensive gameplan versus the Sooners’ impressive pass rush, saying that asking Beau Pribula “to live in the pocket wasn’t going to end well.” On the other side, he suggested Oklahoma try more off-tackle runs to aid its ground game.

Last but not least, Cubelic gave Diego Pavia — 33/39, 484 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT — immense praise for a dominant performance in Vandy’s win over Kentucky. Cubelic said Pavia was “masterful,” and gave him credit for playing under control. You can read through all of Cubelic’s takeaways below:
