Cole Cubelic revealed his SEC takeaways for each team at about midnight on Sunday, so the SEC Network analyst needed about a day to fully digest the good, bad and definitely ugly that occurred in one of the craziest weeks so far of the 2026 college football season.

There was a ton to cover, starting with previous No. 1 Georgia going down at home to Auburn.

“Massive rivalry win,” wrote Cubelic about the Tigers’ 27-24 stunner in Athens in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

There was a flip side to what Auburn did — there was what Georgia didn’t do.

“Tough one,” wrote Cubelic about the Bulldogs’ loss.

Speaking of tough, Alabama lost at Neyland Stadium for the third straight time and lost overall for the second straight time.

“Lost battle at LOS,” Cubelic wrote, meaning the line of scrimmage, where the Crimson Tide had succeeded so well at before last Saturday.

“Dominant rivalry win,” was, again, the flip side to the game, which Cubelic noted in his Tennessee synopsis.

And what about Ole Miss easily taking care of Mizzou in Oxford?

“Most physical game of the season for the OL,” wrote Cubelic about Ole Miss’s dominant victory.

Don’t forget about Kentucky winning its 5th in a row with a tight win at Oklahoma.

“Big one on the road,” Cubelic wrote about the surging Wildcats.
