The SEC’s Week 8 schedule, by number of conference matchups, was the biggest in its history. There were 8 meetings between conference foes on Saturday, 3 of which featured multiple top 17 teams.

Add it all up, and there was an immense amount of tape for Cole Cubelic to analyze on Sunday night. Cubelic, an SEC Network analyst, has offered his takeaways from every SEC team’s game each weekend all season long. He released his thoughts on each SEC squad late Monday evening on Twitter/X.

Cubelic’s attention started on Alabama, who beat Tennessee 37-20 on “The Third Saturday of October.” He credited offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb for making quick in-game adjustments. From there, he applauded Arkansas for showing grit in the Razorbacks’ shootout loss to Texas A&M. Cubelic pointed to Georgia‘s offensive line’s improved work in pass protection as reason for victory against Ole Miss, and gave props to Texas for “finding a way” to win against Kentucky.

On the other side of things, Cubelic said Mississippi State’s loss to Florida and the Wildcats’ overtime defeat versus the Longhorns were “tough to swallow.” He said Auburn absorbed another “gut punch” in their devastating loss to Missouri. He also said Tennessee made “too many mistakes” against Alabama.
