This week’s College GameDay guest picker is in!
Announced live on the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, this week’s College GameDay picker will be former Alabama star and current Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young. The Panthers are observing a bye week, so Young is free to make some picks for the biggest game of the week and one of the most anticipated matchups of the CFB regular season.
Here’s a look at the announcement:
Young was selected No. 1 overall by the Panthers at the 2023 NFL Draft after lighting up the SEC in 2021 and 2022. Young was a member of the Tide’s 2020 national championship team and won the Heisman Trophy in 2021 after collecting 4,872 passing yards with 47 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
After a few seasons of learning the offense and dynamic of the NFL, Young is off to a hot start in 2026. The former Crimson Tide QB leads the NFL in passing yards (1,268) with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions through the first 4 weeks of the season.
Young finished 1-1 against Georgia as a starter for Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide to a win in the 2021 SEC Championship. His lone loss to Georgia was a big one — the Bulldogs downed Young & Co. to win the 2022 national title.
