Alabama is coming off a 4-overtime win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl, while Georgia just blanked rival Georgia Tech 45-0 to finish off a perfect regular season.
Gurley brings fond memories for Georgia fans from 2012-14, as he was an all-SEC player in both 2012 and 2013, and rushed for 3,285 yards and 36 touchdowns.
In the NFL, Gurley had a big start in his first 4 years with the Los Angeles Rams, as he ran for 30 touchdowns and caught 10 TD passes in 2017 and ’18. He then battled some left knee problems, and last year signed with Atlanta, but rushed a career-low 678 yards.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
