College GameDay is keeping it interesting this week.
It seemed like the obvious selection for College GameDay Week 3 would be to go to College Station for their bout against currently-ranked No. 15 Miami. But with their upset loss to Appalachian State Saturday, that probably wouldn’t be a winning idea.
So why not reward the team that beat them instead? College GameDay will be in the hills of North Carolina for Week 3, on location for Troy at Appalachian State.

Appalachian State has been as fun of a team to follow as any the past 15 or so years. The Mountaineers are well known for knocking off No. 5 Michigan in 2007, but repeated this season by knocking off No. 6 Texas A&M in front of their home crowd.
Troy is 1-1 with a loss to Ole Miss followed by a Week 2 victory over Alabama A&M.
