College GameDay is making its first trip outside the SEC this season.
ESPN’s pregame show announced Sunday morning that it is headed to Iowa City for Week 5 of the college football season. The Iowa Hawkeyes are off to a 4-0 start as they get ready to host the Ohio State Buckeyes.
GameDay‘s announcement notes that it is the first time in 20 years that it has visited Iowa City.

Iowa is the first non-SEC campus of the season for GameDay. The show began the season in Baton Rouge for LSU vs. Clemson, Lane Kiffin’s debut game with the school. In Week 2, the show was in Austin for the highly anticipated showdown between Texas vs. Ohio State. Ole Miss hosted GameDay in Week 3 for Kiffin’s highly anticipated return to Oxford with the Tigers. This past Saturday, GameDay originated from the Tennessee campus as the Volunteers hosted No. 1 Texas in a ranked SEC showdown.
Ohio State entered Week 4 ranked No. 7 before a blowout win over Illinois. Iowa is sure to move up from No. 17 after a last-second win over Michigan in Week 4.
