NCAA giving programs added flexibility this season in case coaching members test positive for COVID

While the vast majority of attention is being paid to keeping athletes healthy for the coming college football season, the group that would most likely be negatively affected by a COVID outbreak this season wouldn’t even be the players.
That would be the coaches, as their age and health status put them at a much higher risk factor for hospitalization if they catch the virus.
Taking that into consideration, credit the NCAA for actually making a good decision for once.
According to North Carolina head coach Mack Brown, who spoke with media members during a Zoom call on Tuesday, if active members of the on-the-field staff test positive for COVID during the season and have to quarantine away from the program, the NCAA is going to allow analysts to step up and serve as full-time members of the staff while that coach is away.
