Cram session: Trent Richardson needs to brush up on CFL rules after signing with Roughriders

Though the Canadian Football League is very similar to the NFL, the game does have some major differences.
Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson will either study the CFL rulebook or learn the hard way that it’s a different game up north.
After signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Tuesday, Richardson met with the media and said he hasn’t figured out the new rules yet, but can’t wait to get back on a field doing what he does best (via Riderville.com):
“I don’t know what the different rules is,” Richardson said. “I know if you put a pigskin in my hand, football in my hand, I’m ready to run, I’m ready to play and I’m ready to do what I do best — get in the end zone and probably run somebody over, a player or two.
“It is what it is. At the end of the day, I’m here to play football. I don’t know if it’s much to get used to other than playing football.”
Richardson hasn’t played in the NFL since 2014 with the Indianapolis Colts, but has spent time on the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens’ preseason rosters the past couple of years.
Who knows? If he runs well in the CFL, a final chance in the NFL could be a possibility for the former Alabama star.
