It’s been a rough week for Mizzou big man Jeremiah Tilmon, who fouled out at Florida on Saturday and then was spotted giving the middle finger to Gator fans.

Mizzou coach Cuonzo Martin wasn’t happy with that gesture, so he sat Tilmon for the first part of the first half against Mississippi State on Tuesday night. It didn’t make much difference, though, as Tilmon still managed to foul out against the Bulldogs, finishing with 11 points and six rebounds.

After the game, Martin’s frustration with Tilmon’s inability to stay out of foul trouble was evident, as he said it’s up to the sophomore to figure things out at some point:

Tilmon is perhaps Mizzou’s most-talented player when he’s able to stay on the floor, but he hasn’t been able to do that much this year.

In Mizzou’s 27 games so far this year, Tilmon has played in 26 and has fouled out in a whopping 10 of them. He also finished with four fouls five times. He’s developed a reputation that works against him with referees, but big men all over the country manage not to foul out as much as Tilmon, so he’ll need to get things figured out this offseason.
