Dabo Swinney clowned by fans, media after Clemson picks up 3rd loss of the season
Dabo Swinney and the Tigers picked up their third loss of the season on Saturday night vs. Miami.
The Hurricanes started a true freshman at quarterback and had just seven points on the board until midway through the fourth quarter. But that didn’t matter in the end, as Miami was able to rally in the fourth quarter and ultimately win in double-overtime.
Clemson was forced to kick a field goal in the first overtime. In the second, after Miami found the end zone, the Tigers got all the way to the 1-yard line before Miami was able to pull off a goal-line stand to end the game.
The loss means Clemson’s streak of consecutive 10-win seasons is now in jeopardy. The Tigers will have to run the table — including a bowl game victory — in order to extend that streak to 13 campaigns. Clemson’s last single-digit win season was all the way back in 2010 — Swinney’s second season in charge.
It’s a particularly painful loss given Swinney’s comments this week about “lightening the bandwagon” with regards to expectations at Clemson.
Here’s some of the reaction to Clemson’s third loss of the season:
What an unbelievably goofy playcall from Dabo Swinney on 4th and game from the goal line.
Clemson having 3 losses this early in the season feels truly insane.

Dabo Swinney just dropped a game to a team starting a true freshman (for the first time in his collegiate career), being coached by the most ridiculous coach in all of tackle football.
PLEASE let Clemson go to the SEC or B1G ????

"If you don't go undefeated, people say you're losers, that you're terrible. It's such a terrible mindset. And honestly, maybe we need to lose a few games and lighten up the bandwagon. Sometimes the bandwagon can get a little too full." – Dabo Swinney on Monday

7-5 is absolutely on the table for Clemson. Maybe Dabo Swinney should use the transfer portal before they portal his ass out.
Also might be smart for him to stop blaming the fans for expecting more out of a program that’s been to three national championships under his watch.

Clemson is now 7-6 in its last 13 games after loss at Miami. Dabo Swinney earlier this week: “Honestly, maybe we need to lose a few games & lighten up the bandwagon. Sometimes the bandwagon can get a little too full”

Miami defeats Clemson 28-20 in double overtime.
Clemson led 17-7, late in the third quarter.
Look forward to hearing Dabo Swinney discuss how this loss will further cleanse the Tigers fan base of bad apples
