Dabo Swinney met with reporters on Sunday in advance of Clemson’s Week 3 contest against North Carolina.

Swinney was asked about reports that Christiophere Vizzina is unavailable for the Week 3 game against North Carolina due to an injury. Swinney denied that reporting and said Vizzina will be available.

The conversation about his availability comes after Swinney announced on Monday that Tait Reynolds will start for the Tigers over Vizzina.

“We do feel like he’s earned the opportunity to start this week, and so he will he will go in as the starter,” Swinney told reporters. “Just build on the the good things he did and correct some of the very correctable mistakes that I think, as he plays he will he will correct.”

Reynolds came into the game against Georgia Southern in the second quarter, finishing 16-of-27 for 178 yards, while also adding another 38 on the ground. The Tigers’ offense has looked inept in both of their games, and Swinney is looking for anything to give that group a spark. Reynolds is not afraid to run the ball, as he carried it 14 times on Saturday.

This quarterback battle feels like it could go multiple ways, and how Reynolds performs against UNC will go a long way in determining just that.
