Dae’Quan Wright ‘still waiting’ on NFL eligibility as he weighs options for 2026, per report

Dae’Quan Wright had hoped to be suiting up for LSU this season, but that won’t be the case after the SEC threatened to expel LSU from the SEC for adding professional players.
Wright spent time in the off-season for the Cleveland Browns, he made the decision to try and go back to play for his old college coach, Lane Kiffin. On Wednesday, it was reported by Adam Schefter that he is still trying to figure out if he is eligible to play in the NFL this year as he weighs his options moving forward.
This has been the talking point of college football for the last couple of weeks, and Wright is finding himself in a tough spot. He is hoping that, since he never joined or signed with LSU, he is still able to play. He is also considering his legal options if he needs to explore that route as well.
Wright played for Kiffin at Ole Miss in his last two seasons and finished with 66 catches for 1,029 yards and nine touchdowns. One of his biggest catches was a fourth-down conversion last year against LSU that gave the Rebels the big win over the Tigers.
This is something that could still take a while, but Wright joining his former coach is officially off the table.
