Dae’Quan Wright, Zxavian Harris expect to be added to LSU roster before deadline, per report

Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris received a legal victory on Thursday, as a Louisiana judge granted a preliminary injunction that allows the former NFL signees to join LSU‘s roster.
Both Wright and Harris, in separate statements to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, said that they “expect to be added” to the Tigers’ roster before Friday’s deadline and ahead of Saturday’s season opener against Clemson. Harris has “practiced two days.”
Judge William Jorden’s ruling puts on hold an SEC policy prohibiting former NFL players — and players previously signed to professional football league rosters — from returning to the collegiate ranks. The SEC vowed to punish programs that field such players, including suspending coaches for half a season, massive fines, and revocation of voting rights. But a temporary restraining order put in place by Jorden on Friday keeps the conference from doing so.
The SEC, for its part, filed a lawsuit against LSU on Thursday, accusing the university of violating the conference’s First Amendment rights.
With Jorden’s injunction, though, Wright and Harris are free to return to the college ranks and play at LSU. It’s the latest chapter in a ongoing saga that has dominated the college football and sporting landscape for the last several weeks.
