Former Florida State quarterback and current college football analyst Danny Kanell took a shot at the SEC in the midst of Alabama’s blowout loss to Indiana on Thursday night.

The game wasn’t even over yet, and Kanell had already taken to social media to call out the Crimson Tide and the conference.

“The committee has to stop gifting the SEC almost half the playoff field,” Kanell posted on X. “Bowl season and the playoffs have really revealed how the conference just isn’t that much better than anyone else. Period. End of story.”

The loss for Alabama continued a troubling trend for the SEC this bowl season. Entering the game on Thursday, the SEC was only 3-6 in bowl games. The conference has lost matchups with other conferences like the Big 12 and the ACC. The Crimson Tide only added to that disappointment, as the Hoosiers took control in the second quarter and never allowed Alabama to be in the game.

The final game on Thursday night between Ole Miss and Georgia will allow one team from the SEC to move on, but it hasn’t been as dominant of postseason for the conference as many had expected.
