The Alabama Crimson Tide missed the College Football Playoff for the first time last season, thanks to losses to LSU and Auburn.

However, despite all the talent that left for the NFL, the Tide should still be a player in the Playoff picture this fall.

On Wednesday, CBS analyst Danny Kanell said he thinks the Tide absolutely have the ability to make it to the Playoff and win it all this season:

“They are completely capable of going toe-to-toe with Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Oklahoma — any of the players, as is usual, as is typical of the Alabama team,” Kanell says. “They’ve got the talent on the roster. They’ve got the quarterback to do it in Mac Jones, I believe. Now, it’s up to them to go do it.

“Historically, the games they’ve lost, they’ve kind of shot themselves in the foot or they’ve thrown a couple of interceptions like Mac Jones had last year against Auburn, having a couple of pick-sixes, or they have a game that’s a letdown. If they play up to their capability, they will not only make the Playoff, they’ll be contending for the national championship in the final game.”

How will the Tide fare this season? Will they make it back to the Playoff? We’ll find out soon enough, hopefully.
