College football analyst Danny Kanell has finalized his predictions for the 2026 College Football Playoff.

The former Florida State QB and current CBS Sports analyst has Oregon winning it all. Kanell is projecting the Ducks to take on Texas in the championship game, ultimately extending the Big Ten’s streak of national title winners.

Overall, Kanell’s CFP field includes 4 teams from the Big Ten (Michigan, USC, Ohio State and Oregon), 3 teams from the SEC (Texas, Alabama and Georgia), 2 teams from the Big 12 (BYU and Texas Tech), 1 team from the ACC (Miami), 1 team from the AAC (UTSA) and Notre Dame.

If Oregon does win the national title, that would mark 2 consecutive years of a first-time title winner in college football. Indiana’s first-ever football national championship came last season.

The Big 12 has not produced 2 College Football Playoff participants so far in the 12-team era, so this would be a significant step forward for that league.

As for the SEC, only producing 3 CFP teams would be a big disappointment for the league. The SEC had 5 Playoff teams a year ago with 3 advancing to the quarterfinal round.
