College football pundit Danny Kanell checked in Sunday with his new Top 12 rankings following a wild Week 8, placing 5 teams inside his list and giving particular weight to undefeated teams.
The CBS Sports and Sirius XM college football analyst has Ohio State atop his Top 12 after the Buckeyes blanked Wisconsin 34-0. Kanell then has Indiana, which thumped Indiana 38-13, at No. 2.
Kanell puts the 7-0 Texas A&M Aggies at No. 3 after holding off Arkansas 45-42. Where Kanell likely dovetails away from the national rankings is at No. 4, where he has Georgia Tech – another 7-0 team after the Yellow Jackets downed Duke 27-18. Kanell also has unbeaten BYU at No. 5 after the Cougars upended Utah 24-21.
Kanell puts 1-loss SEC teams Alabama at No. 6, Georgia at No. 8, Ole Miss at No. 10 and Oklahoma at No. 11 in his personal Top 12. The Crimson Tide downed Missouri 37-20, while the Bulldogs handed the Revels their first loss of the season 43-35. Oklahoma whipped South Carolina 26-7 as part of the first-ever 8-game SEC Saturday slate.
