Daune Morris was the first player to find the end zone during Saturday’s top 15 battle between Tennessee and Kentucky inside Neyland Stadium.

The sophomore running back gashed the Wildcats defense, sprinting past Kentucky defenders for a 66-yard touchdown — his longest score of the season and the 2nd longest touchdown rush of Tennessee’s season behind Justin Baker’s 73-yard score against Furman.

For a while there, it was looking like we were heading towards a 0-0 overtime battle. The Vols and Wildcats traded punts to start this one, and Tennessee’s defense has been exceptional outside of a few drives. Safety DeJaun Lane intercepted Wildcats QB Kenny Minchey for just the 2nd time just a few possessions before Morris’ touchdown.

As it currently stands, Tennessee leads Kentucky 7-0 with just under 11 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter. Kentucky is driving looking to put their first points on the board.
