Davhon Keys has already shown up in a big way in his return to the Lone Star State.

Keys, a former Aledo (Texas) High School standout, has been a freshman contributor at linebacker for the Tigers. He came up with LSU’s first big defensive play of the game. On Baylor’s first possession of the Texas Bowl, Keys stepped in to snag a bobbled ball and take it 40 yards to the house.

It was LSU’s second score of the 1st quarter in Houston.

LSU had the first possession of the game. The Tigers put together a 12-play, 68-yard drive to break the scoring ice. Garrett Nussmeier was 5-of-6 for 42 yards on the opening drive, finding tight end Trey’Dez Green to put 6 points on the board.

Green is also a freshman. The former Zachary High School standout from Jackson, Louisiana, played in all 12 regular-season games and entered the postseason with 7 catches for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns.

LSU’s future looks bright with Keys and Green stepping up early in the bowl game. The Texas Bowl is airing on ESPN.
