David Pollack thinks that Florida will pick up a win over Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, the first meeting between the two programs since 2019. Both teams enter Week 3’s action with identical 2-0 marks.
“I think Florida comes in to Jordan-Hare, makes a statement, and gets the dub and gets their first key win for the (Jon) Sumrall era,” Pollack said on his “See Ball Get Ball” podcast.
Pollack has been impressed so far with the work Florida offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner has done with the Gators, who have scored 118 points in their first two games. That’s thanks in part to Jaden Baugh, who already has 298 yards and five touchdowns.
The Gators’ work so far puts them a cut above Alex Golesh and the Tigers, at least for now, Pollack thinks. Auburn coasted past Southern Miss in Week 2 but found itself in a dogfight against Baylor in Atlanta in Week 1 before pulling out the win.
“Buster Faulkner, he’s that good. You watch this offense, Jaden Baugh, he’s an animal. The dialing up and the creativity of plays, it takes a backseat to very few in the country, man,” he said. “Byrum Brown can make plays, can keep you in it (but) the offensive line for Auburn is very much a work in progress in protecting.”
