Deion Sanders says he’s healthy and ready for Year 4 at Colorado.

The head coach of the Buffaloes appeared on Good Morning America and had some big news to share about his health.

โ€œIโ€™ve got my health back. Iโ€™ve got my swagger back,โ€ Sanders said. โ€œLast year at this time I was fighting cancer, didnโ€™t know which way it was going to go. . . . Iโ€™m fully back now. Last year at this time, it wasnโ€™t a good look.โ€

He then used the words everyone loves to hear.

โ€œWe fought the battle and we won the battle fighting cancer,โ€ Sanders said on GMA. โ€œIโ€™m cancer-free. Iโ€™m good. Great doctors in Colorado that have brought me through. God has brought me through. Iโ€™m thankful Iโ€™m healthy.โ€

Sanders was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2025. The football icon was open about his bathroom issues, joking about the need for Depends underwear and having portable toilets on the sideline.

It was also a rough year on the field for Sanders’ squad. Colorado posted a 3-9 record in 2025, its worst under Sanders. Coach Prime says he’s ready to go and turn things around in 2026.

โ€œIโ€™m ready to go coach my butt off this season,โ€ Sanders said. โ€œIโ€™m having a good time.โ€
