Desmond Howard and the College GameDay crew are in Athens for the much-anticipated matchup between Tennessee and Georgia. The crew discussed that matchup, as well as each SEC team’s chance to win the conference.
While Texas and Alabama have the best odds to appear in the SEC Championship Game, Howard thinks another SEC team is the most dangerous right now.
“I think the most dangerous team in the SEC right now is Ole Miss,” said Howard. “I think Ole Miss is the most dangerous for one reason. When you slay the dragon, it does a lot for the confidence of your team.”
Of course, Howard is referencing Ole Miss’ victory over Georgia in Week 11.

The Rebels beat the Bulldogs 28-10 last weekend in an upset that could have College Football Playoff ramifications. It was a dominant performance by the Rebels who had lost 9 of their last 10 meeting with the Bulldogs. It was the best defensive performance of the season for the Rebels, who allowed the Bulldogs just 245 total yards.
“They no longer think they can beat Georgia or one of the big dogs,” explained Howard. “They know they can do it. Because of their confidence, they’re one of the most dangerous teams.”
In Week 12, the Rebels have a bye before ending the regular season with games against Florida and Mississippi State. The team has an 8-2 overall record and a 4-2 mark in SEC play.
