Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was arrested on Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa. Now the details have been released in the police’s arrest of the Crimson Tide player.

Per the police deposition obtained by 247Sports, Kirkpatrick fled from police on the Strip after they tried to halt his speeding Mercedes, as well as striking his vehicle.

Kirkpatrick is suspended indefinitely from the Crimson Tide and was charged with 3 counts of reckless endangerment,  one count of attempting to elude and one count of speeding. These are all misdemeanors. Kirkpatrick eventually departed Tuscaloosa County jail on bond.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer discussed the matter with the media on Monday. DeBoer was firm in his stance about Kirkpatrick Jr.

“Unfortunately, with the information that I have at this time, I talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him,” DeBoer said. “He understands there are consequences that come with his actions.”

The 5-foot-11 sophomore is the son of ex-Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick Jr. has played in 21 games for Alabama during his college career, primarily as a member of the special teams unit. Kirkpatrick has tallied 2 solo tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection this season.
