Deuce Alexander achieved highest max speed across entire Week 1 slate

The No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels picked up their first regular-season win of the Pete Golding era in a 41-38 thriller against No. 24 Louisville in Nashville, knocking off their ACC foes thanks to a last-second field goal.
After a lackluster first half, Trindidad Chambliss and the rest of the Ole Miss offense roared to life over the final 2 frames, putting up 340 total yards of offense and scoring 31 points.
Outside of Chambliss, no other Rebel played a bigger role in the victory than star wideout Deuce Alexander. The senior wideout hauled in 5 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night, and he also achieved a higher max speed than any other player in the country during Week 1, according to Reel Analytics.
Per a post on Reel’s official X account, Alexander reached a max sprint speed of 22.3 MPH. Not only that, but he also recorded the second-highest sprint speed of the weekend at 21.5 MPH in that same game.
Alexander’s elite speed is nothing new for Ole Miss faithful, as he flashed his wheels on multiple occasions last season with the Rebels. He struggled to stand out in an absolutely loaded receiver’s room in 2025, but he entered 2026 firmly entrenched as WR1 in Oxford.
If Week 1 was any indication, Alexander appears to be in line to become one of the best pass catchers in the country and should be in the running for the Biletnikoff Award come December.
