College football DFS picks Week 1
Here we go with 3 picks for Week 1. This week, all selections are via Underdog:
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele lower than 263.5 pass yards
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele was excellent as a freshman at Cal in 2025, but I think this projection is too high. Sagapolutele’s reputation has out-paced his production to this point — he averaged just 7 yards per attempt last season and struggled against multiple ACC opponents. Market expectations have UCLA projected to be much better than in year’s past while the Golden Bears have a team total of under 28 for this game. To me, those factors point to Sagapolutele coming in way lower than 263.5 passing yards.
Bryce Underwood higher than 200.5 pass yards
Michigan faces Western Michigan in Week 1. Normally I’d shy away from taking the high side of a projection like this in a lookahead spot (Oklahoma is on deck) but I think this number is just too low. That confidence comes primarily from the market expectation that Michigan is going to score 37+ points against WMU. Last season, when Underwood was less experienced and in a worse situation, he threw for over 200 yards in 6 of 9 games that Michigan scored 24+ points.
Kamario Taylor higher than 54.5 rush yards
Kamario Taylor showed off his dual-threat skillset in the final 2 games of Mississippi State’s 2026 season. He rushed for 173 yards in a loss to Ole Miss and followed that up with 63 rushing yards in a bowl game defeat to Wake Forest. More notable, to me, than the rushing yards was the volume — he averaged 19 rush attempts in those games. At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, Taylor has the ability to overpower this ULM defense. I don’t think we’ll see 19 rushing attempts in this game, but even half that might be enough to get to 55 rushing yards for Taylor.
