Did Deuce Alexander drop ball before crossing goal line on long TD vs. Louisville?

Ole Miss wide receiver Deuce Alexander may have gotten away with a massive mistake in Ole Miss’s 41-38 win over Louisville on Sunday night.
While strolling into the end zone with his second 62-yard touchdown reception of the game, Alexander flipped the ball behind him in celebration — but seemingly may have dropped the ball before crossing the plane.
Fortunately for Ole Miss and Alexander, officials didn’t catch the potential mistake and the play was not reviewed. The touchdown gave Ole Miss an 8-point lead in the second half. However, if Alexander did indeed drop the ball short of the goal line, it should have been ruled a touchback with possession going to Louisville.

Ole Miss went on to win this game 41-38 thanks to a 48-yard field goal at the end of regulation.
Perhaps further video evidence will surface in the coming days that will conclusively say whether or not Alexander’s TD should have counted. But in the end, it was a breakout performance for Alexander, who caught 5 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory.
Ole Miss will host Charlotte next week.
