Diego Pavia has not been shy at all during the 2025 college football season when it comes to him winning the Heisman Trophy. He has on multiple occasions let it be known in multiple interviews this season that his goal is to wind up in New York and win the award.

Since he became the quarterback at Vanderbilt, Pavia has taken the football program to another level. Entering Saturday’s rivalry game at Tennessee, the Commodores were 9-2 and had a legitimate shot at making it to the College Football Playoff.

Pavia only fueled the Heisman hype on Saturday, as he celebrated a huge touchdown against the Volunteers by hitting the ‘Heisman’ pose. The touchdown put the Vols up 38-24 and they ultimately won 45-24.

Pavia has been a dual-threat all season long for the Commodores, and he showed that on Saturday by going over 400 yards of total offense while scoring two total touchdowns. He rushed for more than 150 yards in the way, and joined Sedrick Alexander in both going over 100 yards on the ground against the Volunteers.

The Commodores wrapped up one of their best regular seasons in program history, and it could end with potentially a spot in the CFP, as well as Pavia making that appearance in New York at the Heisman Trophy presentation.
