Diego Pavia is most known to SEC fans as the QB for New Mexico State who went into Auburn and ran all over the Tigers in a 31-10 upset win in November.

Pavia passed for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns, and also ran for 35 yards as the Aggies controlled the game throughout and caused fans and media to take a second look at Hugh Freeze’s program rebuild.

Now Pavia has a new announcement, and it’s that he’s transferring to Vanderbilt. In fact, the West End has lured several former New Mexico State names. Along with Pavia, coach Jerry Kill, and offensive coordinator Tim Beck are headed to Vanderbilt as well.

Vanderbilt, by the way, plays Auburn on Nov. 2 on The Plains.

Pavia last year was the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year after he completed 221 of his 366 passes for 2,973 yards, 26 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Pavia’s backup last season, Blaze Berlowitz, also announced that he would transfer to the Commodores.

Vanderbilt has revamped its entire quarterback depth chart, as it also added Utah transfer Nate Johnson. Those replace outgoing quarterbacks AJ Swann, Ken Seals and Walter Taylor. The Commodores also have redshirt sophomore Drew Dickey and incoming freshmen Whit Muschamp and Jeremy St-Hilaire.
