Georgia releases statement following injury to receiver Dominick Blaylock

If you missed the terrible news out of Athens on Thursday morning, sophomore receiver Dominick Blaylock has unfortunately suffered a knee injury that will force him to miss the entire 2020 season.
Blaylock was projected as a likely starter for the Bulldogs after his promising freshman season, which was also cut short by a season-ending knee injury suffered in the 2019 SEC Championship Game.
Following the disappointing news, Georgia released the following statement on Blaylock’s condition and status moving forward:
“University of Georgia sophomore wide receiver Dominick Blaylock suffered an injury to his left knee Wednesday during a non-contact drill. Surgery will be required and he will miss the 2020 season. A full recovery is expected.”
Last fall Blaylock caught 18 passes for 310 yards and five touchdowns during his freshman season in Athens.
The Georgia native signed with the Bulldogs as a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 36 overall recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle. He was rated as the nation’s No. 5 high school receiver coming out of Walton High School.
