Earl Little Jr. had a dramatic announcement live on ESPN2 as the elite cornerback out of South Florida pulled straw hats out from under the table, and put one on along with hats for his family and coach.

Little said he would sign with Alabama and the Crimson Tide will get the No. 12-rated cornerback in this class, and the No. 16 player in the state of Florida, a 4-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s from Fort Lauderdale, Florida (American Heritage) and he’s listed at 6 foot and 175 pounds. He chose Alabama over Florida State and Miami, where his father played in college, over 39 offers.

Earlier in the week, Little’s father spoke about Alabama to 247Sports.

Regarding Alabama: “You have a head coach that coaches the defensive backs, he’s put a lot of guys out in the NFL and they have been consistently the top college football program since he’s been there, and prior to him being there 12 National Championships, so they have 18 now, possibly 19. The whole program, how he does things over there, a lot of kids want to know about having fun and you’re going to have fun being a college student but the main goal is to get your degree and go over there and play football and Alabama is the standard.”

Here are his highlights from Hudl:
