Ed Orgeron’s team gave Alabama its toughest test of the season on Saturday night as LSU forced the first interception of the season for QB Tua Tagovailoa.

The Tigers struggled to get their offense going as Alabama had a big lead in yards at halftime, and the Crimson Tide tacked on a late touchdown on a two-play scoring drive to make it 16-0.

Tagovailoa had two touchdown passes in the first half, and was 19-for-29 passing for 208 yards, and the interception. LSU had just 67 yards compared to 325 yards for Alabama.

“Playing hard,” coach Ed Orgeron said on his halftime radio interview. “Tua’s making some great plays, got to get him down. Proud of our defense.”

LSU QB Joe Burrow was 8-for-18 passing for 68 yards. He also lost nine yards in the rushing department.

“We got to protect, we got to do max protection,” Orgeron said. “They’re sacking the quarterback. We got to make some changes.”

LSU will not only receive the second half kickoff, the Tigers will get LB Devin White back from his targeting suspension.
