The relationship between new LSU OC Steve Ensminger and coach Ed Orgeron seems to be much better than Coach O’s relationship with former LSU OC Matt Canada.
However, there are still times when Coach O feels the need to pull rank and rein in his new coordinator.
During his weekly radio show on Wednesday, Coach O was asked if the LSU hurry-up offense goes too fast sometimes, and he said he’s the one who tries to rein in Ensminger at times:
Orgeron asked about the #LSU up-tempo offense maybe going too fast.
โI promise you. Iโm the first one who says, โSteve, slow down.โโ
But he says it all comes down to what LSU does on first down.

Whatever the Tigers are doing this year, it’s working. Still, they’ll face their toughest test after this weekend’s open date when No. 1 Alabama comes to Baton Rouge.
How will they balance their offensive attack? Against Alabama’s tough defense, every single snap the Tigers get will count.
