Edgerrin Cooper balled out against South Carolina and earned some recognition on Tuesday via the Maxwell Football Club.
Cooper was featured as the Bednarik Award Player of the Week for Week 9.
The Chuck Bednarik Award is given out each year in December at the ESPN Home Depot College Awards Show to the best defensive player in college football.
Cooper had 7 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, 1 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble in the 30-17 win. He currently leads Texas A&M in total tackles (52), tackles for loss (15), and sacks (6.5) this season.
The Maxwell Award Player of the Week was Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II. Gordon had 271 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns against Cincinnati.
Texas A&M snapped a two-game losing streak with the win over South Carolina.
The Aggies could clinch a bowl appearance with a win in their next four games. Texas A&M faces Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Abilene Christian, and LSU to end the year.
