Eli Drinkwitz announces 9 Mizzou captains for 2025 season

Eli Drinkwitz announced on Saturday the 9 players who will serve as Mizzou football captains for the 2025 season.
On offense, both quarterbacks Beau Pribula and Sam Horn were elected as captains. Coach Eli Drinkwitz shared the news after practice, per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The 2 quarterbacks were joined by center Connor Tollision and left guard Cayden Green.
Pribula, a redshirt junior, transferred in from Penn State in the offseason. Horn has been with the program since 2022 and has seen time in 4 games. Both are currently competing for the starting quarterback job. Green transferred to Mizzou in 2024 after one year at Oklahoma and started every game with the Tigers at the left guard spot. Tollison, a fifth-year graduate player, has been at Mizzou since 2021 and previously had a 35-game starting streak that was snapped in 2024 due to a knee injury.

Defensively, defensive end Zion Young, linebacker Khalil Jacobs, and safeties Daylan Carnell and Jalen Catalon were selected as team captains.
Young is a senior headed into his second year with Mizzou after spending his first 2 seasons with Michigan State. Jacobs played in 6 games in his first year with the Tigers after 2 seasons at South Alabama, seeing his 2024 campaign cut short by injury. They’ll be joined as captains by Carnell, who’s going into his fifth year with the program, and Catalon, who is entering his seventh season overall and first with Mizzou.
Logan Muckey, a fifth-year receiver, will serve as special teams captain.
