Eli Drinkwitz gave Missouri fans something they’ve been waiting for since Luther Burden signed with the Tigers: A dynamic playmaker who can make plays all over the field. Fans got their first glimpse of Burden on Thursday night during the win over Louisiana Tech.
“You know, I see it everyday to be honest with you. I kind of knew it was coming,” Drinkwitz said. “I didn’t want to built it up too much. So, he’s a good player. Y’all saw it in the spring game. That one he caught — it wasn’t considered a passing touchdown, he made 3 guys miss. They were on the headset talking to me about, ‘Hey, he’s going to get tackled. What’s our third down call?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know.’ So, that was pretty good.”
Burden had 3 carries for 26 yards and a touchdown to go with 3 catches for 17 yards and another score.
“Then, the wildcat,” Drinkwitz said. “That was a nice little addition. Just to make sure he got some touches. But we’d been seeing that all fall camp.”
