Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz isn’t tiptoeing around the quarterback battle in camp.

The competition for the starting spot is narrowed down to Beau Pribula and Sam Horn. Both have been putting in strong efforts that are making the decision anything but easy for Drinkwitz and his staff, according to Nathalie Jones of ABC17 News.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Drinkwitz plans to finalize a “quarterback decision within the next 24 hours.” The Missouri offense is starting somewhat fresh in 2025, presenting a suitable opportunity for either of the talented players under center.

Horn is entering his fourth season with the Tigers, but has limited game experience, totaling just four career appearances and missing all of last year with an injury. For Pribula, a Penn State transfer, he comes in with slightly more on his sheet. He served as a dual-threat option for three years, with 424 passing yards, 9 touchdowns and 571 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

Missouri kicks off the 2025 season on Aug. 28 against Central Arkansas at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network, and the new QB will step into the post-Brady Cook era, expected to build on the Tigers’ recent momentum.
