Eli Drinkwitz and Mizzou lost to Texas on Saturday, 34-20. It was extremely competitive for much of the game, with the Tigers leading 20-13 in the third quarter. However, the Longhorns were able to score the last 21 points of the game to get the win.

During the game, there were a few calls that went against Mizzou, which had fans and media very frustrated.

Drinkwitz was asked about the officiating, and the coach decided to save his wallet and take the high road.

“If I say what I want to say, I’m going to get fined until I don’t have any retirement,” Drinkwitz said. “And I’m not going to do that because I’m not going to blame the officials. That’d be disrespectful to Coach Sarkisian and his team.”

There were many plays that had to be reviewed by instant replay, and they all went against the Tigers. During the broadcast, the ESPN rules person on multiple of those plays said it should have gone Mizzou’s way, but the officials ended up going with the opposite decision.

For Drinkwitz, he knows that the only thing that will come out of him saying stuff in the media is going to hurt him and he will get fined. The SEC will come out with some statement over the next day or two talking about a couple of those plays, but it won’t change anything for the Tigers.

Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns got a win that the team desperately needed, but the Tigers will have a sour taste in their mouth for a while after this one.
