Blades has had an eventful journey in college football starting with his recruitment. As Chris Hummer of 247Sports noted, Blades has committed or played for Florida, Nebraska, Oregon, a junior college and Texas A&M along with being in the transfer portal twice.
Blades played in only 2 games for the Gators this past season, and made 3 tackles with a pass deflection. He was dismissed by the program earlier in the year, which led to his previous decision to enter the transfer portal.
