Elijah Robinson has been a key piece of the Texas A&M coaching staff since Jimbo Fisher’s first year with the Aggies. The longtime defensive line coach was elevated to interim head coach after Fisher’s mid-season firing, but Robinson will not be the full-time head coach.

That job has gone to Mike Elko, the former Aggie DC who helped produce a quick turnaround at Duke. Elko returns to A&M after leading the Aggie defense from 2018-21, and the prospect of Robinson staying on the Aggies staff under Elko has surfaced.

According to Landyn Rosow with Rivals, there is an expectation that Robinson will remain with the Aggies. An “expected role” as Elko’s DC is reported.

Needless to say, the prospect of retaining Robinson has Texas A&M fans excited. Following the 2021 season, Robinson added the additional roles of assistant head coach and run game coordinator as his defensive line unit churned out NFL prospects.

He looks like the kind of assistant a head coach would want to keep on staff, and here’s a glimpse at how the Aggie faithful reacted to the report:
