Eric McFarland III has committed to Texas A&M.

The IMG Academy wide receiver, ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 6 player at the position for the 2027 class, revealed his decision on Sunday afternoon, one that was widely expected given the Aggies were a strong favorite to land him. McFarland chose Texas A&M over Florida and Georgia.

McFarland, who reclassified from the 2028 class, totaled 29 catches for 595 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore at IMG in 2025.

It’s another big win for Mike Bobo and the Aggies, who started the day with what was aready the nation’s top recruiting class. McFarland joins a group that already includes the nation’s No. 3 overall player in offensive tackle Mark Matthews and top 50 recruits Zyron Forstall (McFarland’s teammate at IMG), Kamarui Dorsey, Raylaun Henry, and JayQuan Snell.

Three other wide receivers are committed to Bobo’s class for 2027. Jaden Upshaw, from Georgia, is the No. 55 overall player in the country. Las Vegas’s Damani Warren and Cleveland’s Trey Haddad have pledged as well.

Texas A&M is hoping for more good news on July 1. That’s when Joshua Dobson, the country’s No. 8 cornerback, will announce his decision, with the Aggies well in the hunt to secure his services as well.
