There’s little change in most College Football Playoff rankings, and that includes picks from ESPN “College Football Final” analysts Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer.

Galloway and Palmer have largely kept their rankings consistent throughout the season, especially recently, with Palmer keeping Texas A&M at No. 5 for a while. Galloway dropped Ohio State after the Buckeyes’ game with Illinois was canceled, and elevated Notre Dame following the Fighting Irish’s solid victory at North Carolina on Friday. Palmer dropped Ohio State last week, and he’s explained that he doesn’t think the Buckeyes are as talented as they were each of the last 2 seasons, or in 2014 when they won the national title.

Galloway said Cincinnati may have the best defense in the top 5, and he admits he likes the Bearcats more than the Playoff committee. But the Bearcasts’ strength of schedule took a hit this week when SMU lost.

For his No. 5 team, Palmer explained why he has the Aggies there.

“Kellen Mond struggled throwing the football against LSU, but I love what I’m seeing from A&M’s defense right now, especially up front, very, very disruptive,” Palmer said. “The head to head win against Florida for me still carries a lot of weight. It might not down the road if Florida were to beat Bama in an SEC title game.”
