For all the folks out there in the college football world crying about ESPN’s perceived SEC bias, the Worldwide Leader certainly hasn’t been able to get its weekly Football Power Index (FPI) to follow suit.
There are no SEC teams in the top 5 this week, with Alabama falling out of the No. 5 spot despite a road win over rival Auburn in an intense Iron Bowl.
The top 5 is currently made up of 3 Big Ten teams (No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Indiana and No. 4 Oregon), independent No. 3 Notre Dame and 1 Big 12 team (No. 5 Texas Tech).
Alabama is the first of 10 SEC squads in the top 25, checking in at No. 6 this week. Georgia is a couple of spots behind at No. 8.
Here’s a look at this week’s full FPI top 25:
- Ohio State
- Indiana
