The first College Football Playoff rankings come out on Tuesday night, and it’s safe to say there will be a trio of SEC squads in the mix.

First things first — Alabama is almost certainly going to be the No. 1 team. Then, there’s LSU, which has a top-four worthy resume and Georgia, coming off a win over Florida.

On ESPN on Sunday morning, ESPN Playoff expert Heather Dinich predicted how the first rankings will play out, and she had all three SEC squads in the top six:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. LSU
  4. Notre Dame
  5. Michigan
  6. Georgia

Obviously, Alabama and LSU play next weekend, so one of those teams will take a firmer hold on their Playoff spot.

Georgia, meanwhile, could basically lock up the SEC East with a win at Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
