Nick Chubb is currently viewed as a player working his way back from a gruesome injury. ESPN plans on showing a much different perspective to Chubb on Sunday.
It doesn’t highlight his incredible abilities as a Georgia running back. It tells the story of his heritage.
“SportsCenter” put together a feature on Chubb for Black History Month called “Chubbtown.” It’s about a group of blacks free from slavery who made settled and made a home in north Georgia back in 1864.
Henry Chubb, a direct ancestor of Nick Chubb, founded the town.
Chubbtown isn’t a town anymore, but it does still exist. It can now be found in Floyd County, Ga., about 85 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, as unincorporated land.
Here’s a preview of the feature, which will debut in the 10 a.m. ET edition of “SportsCenter” and will re-air in other editions throughout the day.
You can view more details of the feature here.
