There’s one spot left in the College Football Playoff National Championship, and it will be settled on Friday night at the Peach Bowl.
ESPN’s College GameDay made the trip to Atlanta for the CFP semifinal clash between No. 1 seed Indiana and No. 5 seed Oregon. The crew also visited the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday ahead of No. 10 seed Miami’s win over No. 6 Ole Miss to claim a spot in the national title game.
It may not be a Saturday, but you can’t have GameDay without a picks segment. Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee all made their picks before the Playoff rematch between the Big Ten teams. Here’s how the crew picked the game.
- Howard: Indiana
- Saban: Indiana
- Herbstreit: Indiana
- McAfee: Indiana
On Thursday, Howard, Saban and McAfee all picked Miami (Herbstreit did not pick as he was in the broadcast booth), and the Hurricanes pulled it off in a thriller.
We’ll see how Friday’s picks hold up. Indiana took Round 1 30-20 in Eugene on Oct. 11. It was the only loss on Oregon’s record so far, while IU remains undefeated. The Hoosiers are the betting favorite to win the rematch.
The game’s primary broadcast is airing on ESPN.
