Lane Kiffin is Public Enemy No. 1 when the LSU Tigers arrive in town this weekend. Kiffin will probably hold that status until the end of time. He won’t care in the slightest, though, if he proves his point by guiding his Tigers to a victory over the Rebels.
Right now, that’s what ESPN’s Football Power Index expects to happen. FPI gives LSU a 66.8% chance of beating Ole Miss.
Like we say for all rivalries, we can throw record books out the window for this game. No, the Tigers aren’t the in-state Bulldogs. But there’s no denying the Rebels, justifiably, feel jilted.
Their “good man” fell victim to temptation and left them for another woman, one that lives two houses down. This is their opportunity to prove he was wrong for doing so.

No future meeting between Kiffin and Ole Miss will carry the level of intensity as this one. The Rebels could win 100 straight matchups starting next season, and it might not matter. This one means the most to Kiffin, and the most to them.
There will be no greater satisfaction for either side than prevailing on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. E.T., ABC).
