ESPN’s Football Power Index has a prediction for this week’s Alabama-Kentucky game.
This is a big game for both programs. Alabama can clinch the SEC West title with a win over the Wildcats this weekend. The Tide enter this game with an undefeated record in conference play.
For Kentucky, the Wildcats are fighting for a chance to finish the season with an above .500 record in SEC play. Kentucky has 2 SEC games remaining — this game vs. the Tide and a meeting with South Carolina in Week 12. At 6-6, Kentucky is already bowl-eligible this season.
FPI is favoring Alabama, however. The model gives the Tide an 85.9% chance to win in Lexington this weekend.
Both teams are coming off of a win in Week 9. Alabama defeated LSU at home while Kentucky turned in a dominant performance vs. Mississippi State on the road.
Alabama is 38-2-1 all-time against Kentucky. That record includes 7 consecutive victories vs. the Wildcats. UK’s last win over the Tide came back in 1997.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
