ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for the outcome of the SEC rivalry showdown. FPI is giving Georgia a 79.7 percent chance of defeating Florida. That’s a large number for a rivalry matchup but it speaks to the uncertainty surrounding Florida for the rest of the season.
Georgia will be well-rested after coming off a bye week. In their last game, the Bulldogs beat Ole Miss 43-35 on Oct. 18. Quarterback Gunner Stockton completed 26 of his 31 passes for 289 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Florida also had a bye last weekend after getting rid of head coach Billy Napier. The Gators bounced back from a 34-17 loss at Texas A&M with a 23-21 victory against Mississippi State on Oct. 18, the final game Napier coached. Billy Gonzales, who was Florida’s wide receivers coach, is now the interim head coach.
